The International Women’s Day tagged “Press for Progress” was held on Friday, March 8, 2018, at the Quadrangle, IHS Nigeria HQ. We had representatives from IHS Nigeria’s HMO – AXA Mansard, who came to conduct various tests such as Blood sugar level, Blood pressure and breast examination. The session covered women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). We had two external guest speakers - Grema Ogboru (CIO Rand Merchant Bank) Adebola Atoyebi (CEO Heritage House Montessori Center)   and our own in-house guest speaker (Beatrice Okoko, BSD/CTO Director), who spoke to our women in attendance. We also had 20 undergraduates along STEM career path in attendance too.

The International Women’s Day event was commemorated on the 9th of March in the Abuja region. The women attended a seminar by Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), the Entrepreneurship Centre of the Pan-Atlantic University.  The seminar held at Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the theme was “PRESS FOR PROGRESS”.   We were educated on women empowerment, career life for women, work life balance, taking a stand as a woman, women-related health issues and some other interesting topics.
