Beauty of IHS
IHS CIV organized a photography contest called the “Beauty of IHS”. The contest had employees submit pictures that best showed the beauty of IHS in CIV in the office, working on sites and amongst 1,000 of files. Three winners emerged from the contest and all felt it was a great team building exercise.
IHS CIV organized medical examinations for all staff including those in the regions. This initiative aims at ensuring that all are healthy and that our staff are capable of performing their duties with minimal health risk.
Bicycle and school kits donation
Ahead of the commencement of the new school year, IHS CIV donated 10 bicycles and 75 school kits to the best students of the “Collège modern de Gagnoa”. The children in this area have to walk several kilometres to school every day – as this region doesn’t have many schools - and we hope that this initiative will be an encouragement for them to stay in school.
Generator Recycling programme
In Q2, IHS CIV launched their generator recycling programme. The first recycled generator went to a small medical clinic in Adjamé and one generator was donated in Q3 - to the orphanage of Gagnoa which has been without light since 2014. The team hopes to donate two more in Q4.
Donation to the maternity of Koumassi
On World Humanitarian Day, IHS CIV made a donation of baby supplies to all mothers present at the maternity of Koumassi.
Women in Science Internship Programme
IHS CIV partnered with Institut Polytechnique Houphouet Boigny (INHB) to offer a new ‘Women in Science’ internship opportunity to the three best female students studying telecommunications. INHB is a prestigious Ivoirian polytechnic school located in Yamoussoukro, the capital city of CIV. The internship programme ran from July to September 2017 and the candidates were split between the technical and operations departments. The programme was a big success and will be reorganised in 2018.
